| Acrylic on black gesso. I typically start these with white and do a white value study. Sometimes the white value study looks so good it remains as the painting. This is a poor photo taken with my phone in poor indoor light. |

| After the white is complete, I glazed with color. Then on some areas on the flower I started adding some more white highlights. I will add highlights, color, details, and shadows as needed in layers. |
