5/25/11

Watercolor flower after class.  I added detail to the leaves by scrubbing out the middle vein and glazing with new gamboge.  I used cobalt blue and sap green to add dark to the leaves.  I glazed in more new gamboge and a little rose/new gamboge mixture on the leaves.  I adjusted some of the values on the petals and glazed more cobalt and new gamboge onto the petals.  The background was wet (beyond where the color is) and I added splotches of sap, rose, cobalt new gamboge and then held it vertical and sprayed it so the colors would move and gently blend.  I can tone it down later if needed.
