Continuing Watercolor (Jan/Feb 13) - Sertoma

This started by transferring the drawing onto the watercolor paper.  I wet the skin, mixed a brown (sienna and indigo) and worked on the values.  This was done on the face and the hand.  Remember for the hand, less is more..  I wet the fabric and used indigo to also lay in the values.

This started by wetting the paper, dropping in color (I used rose and new gamboge).  I then put saran wrap on it and pet it dry.  Nest, I used rubber cement and the brush to lay in the texture for the feathers.  I also dribbled some on the background.  I let that dry and then painted a dark I mixed over the chicken.  The entire beginning of this painting is loose and experimental.  Have fun!
