Wet-on-wet watercolor with watercolor 'drawn' on top. I transferred the drawing (made sure it was fairly dark), gently wet the entire paper (you can use a small spray bottle to do this, you do not want to remove the drawing), and then I added washes of color all over the owl and background - lightly and loosely (I used new gamboge, cobalt, and permanent rose in various mixtures). After this dried I started adding detail on dry paper (I used burnt sienna and indigo in various mixtures). |
