| The value study. I mixed a gray using the colors I plan to use on the flower. I could also mix a gray with black and white. I could also use a color for the value study. |

| I glazed the color over the flower part (rose madder quinacridone with a little ultramarine blue) and made a yellow green and a blue green for the green parts of the plant (ultramarine blue and hansa yellow light). |

| I used titanium white from thick to watered down a bit to add highlights, details, make corrections, and adjust the values. |

| Used the 3 colors used previously and white to make various reds and greens to further shift the values and to add details. |
